A LOCAL youth was produced in court yesterday to face a charge of armed robbery at the Mar’azmala petrol station.
No plea was taken from the 20-year-old Haji Muhammad Dhiyaulhaq bin Haji Ariffin as police want the defendant to assist in their investigation.
For this reason, Deputy Public Prosecutor Danial Kifrawi’s application to have the defendant remanded was granted by Senior Magistrate Haji Nabil Daraina who fixed the case for further mention on September 27, 2014.
The defendant was arrested on September 17 at his home at about 1.50am.
He is alleged to have stolen $3,900 while armed with a machete and caused fear of instant hurt to a 21-year-old Indonesian employee of the station.
