A MALAYAN Sun Bear was reportedly hit in an apparent road kill, as the country’s wildlife, it seems, is slowly making its way into urban areas.
The latest wildlife-human interaction has unfortunately ended in the death of one the region’s endangered species.
A photo showing the lifeless body of the Malayan Sun Bear has sparked concerns among wildlife enthusiasts in Brunei with some voicing suggestions that measures be taken by both the public and government authorities.
The photo, which can be seen on 1Stop Brunei’s Facebook page and Instagram, has garnered the attention of many and almost all of them expressing their sadness at the bear’s fate.
The accident, it was learned, took place in Mabohai yesterday morning and the bear “most likely originated from the Tasek Lama forest”. The car that hit the bear sustained damages.
