HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to receive Letters of Credence and grant audience to the newly-appointed foreign envoys to Brunei Darussalam yesterday.
His Majesty first consented to receive Letters of Credence from the newly-appointed foreign envoys to Brunei Darussalam, Hisham bin Abdul Wahab bin Zar’ah, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia; Abdolhamid Fekri, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran; Yang Jian, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China; and Marina Laker, High Commissioner of Canada.
Following the ceremony, His Majesty granted separate audiences to the newly-appointed High Commissioner and Ambassadors to Brunei Darussalam.
Hisham bin Abdul Wahab bin Zar’ah, 56, previously served as Deputy Chief of Protocol in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Abdolhamid Fekri, 61, previously served as the General Director in Ethics and Discipline of the General Department, the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Yang Jian, 47, previously served as Counsellor and Deputy Director General of the Department of Asian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the People’s Republic of China.
Marina Laker, 54, previously served as Counsellor and Head of Political, Trade and Public Affairs at the Embassy of Canada in Kabul, Afghanistan.
