A TOTAL of 267 students embarked on a new chapter in their life with the start of orientation week for Year Seven and Year Nine students at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School (SUAMPRIPAD).
The new students comprise 261 Year Seven students who had completed their primary education at the Bandar Seri Begawan Arabic Preparatory School in the capital, while the six students in Year Nine previously received their lower secondary education at the Temburong Arabic Preparatory School.
Accompanied by their parents and guardians, the new intake was welcomed by the school’s teachers and officials during the registration session. They were later directed to their respective classrooms while those who had gained a place in the school’s hostel were brought to their respective dormitories.
Under the National Education System for the 21st Century (SPN21), the new Year Seven students will study 16 subjects, including the core ones of Malay, English, Mathematics and Science, as well as the religious subjects of Al-Quran, Arabic, Fiqh Islam and Tauhid.
In addition, they will be subjected to an orientation programme aimed at providing guidance and information as well as to get them adjusted to their new environment.
