STUDENTS of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School (SUAMPRIPAD) yesterday paid tribute to their teachers with colourful performances, songs and games in the school’s assembly area.
The day began with the singing of the national anthem followed by a speech from the school principal Ustazah Hjh Haryati Hj Ahmad. In her speech, she thanked all the teachers for their dedication in fulfilling their responsibilities despite the challenges that they have to face.
The celebration continued on an upbeat note with a Kalam Jama’ie (choral speaking) presentation by Year 7 to Year 10 students accompanied by clapping and lively hand actions.
The event also saw teachers engage in a number of games which included musical chairs, water bottle filling competition, relay race as well as a lucky draw competition.
The highlight of the celebration was the cutting of the Teacher’s Day cake presented by the school’s Students’ Affairs Body.
Towards the end of the ceremony, the school’s Students Council members and prefects presented gifts to around 80 teachers in a show of appreciation and gratitude for their service and sacrifice.
