EMOTIONS ran high for teachers of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School (SUAMPRIPAD) when they gathered to bid farewell to English teacher Hjh Jamilah binti Hj Hamdan at a local restaurant in the capital yesterday.
SUAMPRIPAD’s English head and chairperson of the organising committee, Nornabilah binti Haini, gave a welcoming speech at the event.
Known for her kind and understanding nature, Hjh Jamilah started her teaching career in Begawan Pehin Udana Khatib Hj Awang Omar Religious School in 1981, before joining SUAMPRIPAD in 2004. She will retire at the end of this year.
In her farewell speech, she thanked His Majesty’s Government for entrusting her with the responsibility of teaching English for 33 years.
Later, prizes were presented to Hjh Jamilah for her contribution to the school.
The ceremony concluded with an exchange of well wishes between Hjh Jamilah and her colleagues.
