AUSTRALIA offers an excellent option as a study destination, especially with the scholarship awarding bodies’ strong emphasis on rankings and programmes that are directly relevant to Brunei’s manpower needs.
The Study in Australia Fair, which will be held today at the Radisson Hotel from 2pm to 7pm, will showcase some of the most prestigious universities in Australia, a press release said.
Highly ranked in the world league tables, the participating universities offer a wide spectrum of course options that Bruneians are looking for like medicine, engineering, allied health as well as interdisciplinary programmes such as geomatics, design and technology, environmental studies, creative industries and more.
The event offers a timely opportunity to identify appropriate courses and programmes and will also allow students to obtain a good insight on the quality of the Australian education system.
The exhibition will form an excellent platform for students to research and link their career choice with relevant pathways, course options and also to find out more about entry requirements, strengths of a particular programme and relevance to future employment.
The reputation of Australian education is well recognised worldwide. The ‘Group of Eight’ universities are all placed in the top 100 universities by various league tables and almost half of the Australian universities are in the top 400 universities worldwide.
The participating universities are Curtin University Perth (Australian Technology Network), Griffith University (Innovative Research Universities), University of Melbourne (Group of Eight Universities and Universitas 21) Monash University (Group of Eight Universities) and University of New South Wales (Group of Eight Universities and Universitas 21).
It should be noted that certain programmes that are not open to international students in other countries – such as Dietetics, Physiotherapy and Speech Pathology – do not have such restrictions in Australian universities.
All participating universities are accredited by the Brunei Accreditation Council.
