A GROUP of six students from Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) Secondary School left for Japan yesterday to participate in the International Education, Culture, Exchange & Homestay Programme.
The delegation is accompanied by Siew Kuan Keasberry, the Acting Principal of YSHHB Secondary School and another teacher.
The students are Muhammad Adib bin Hj Abu Bakar, Matthew Chen Wen Jin, Iman Qistina binti Abd Mohaimin, Siti Nazatul binti Tokshim, Norazmina Rosyidatul Afikah binti Noorazmi and Dayangku Nor Bazilah binti Pg Adanan.
The students will be spending 12 days in Wakayama where they will be staying at randomly selected Japanese families.
Two of the students – Muhammad Adib and Matthew Chen said they have never been to Japan before and they are very excited about this trip to the Land of the Rising Sun.
This is the second such trip organised by YSHHB Secondary School for students who have completed their ‘O’ Level examinations.
The students are also scheduled to meet the Governor of Wakayama Prefecture.
The programme is primarily aimed at presenting an opportunity to learn the wonderful culture and traditions of Japan and its people as they will also conduct visits to places of cultural interest in the country, with an educational visit to Keifu High School.
