A GROUP of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) Secondary School students yesterday brought smiles to the faces of the children at Ward 2 of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital, thanks to a colourful dramatic reading presentation.
Entitled ‘Room on the Broom,’ the presentation was directed by Ummi Aisyah binti Mohammad Salim and 15 students from YSHHB Secondary School. Last week, the group paid a visit to Pusat Ehsan to stage a similar presentation.
The initiative is part of the school’s ‘Speak More English Campaign’ (set to run until June 2015), whereby students improve their English language skills and understand the intricacy of language and intonation. The presentation also serves to promote appreciation of books through drama performances.
Through the activity, the school and its students hope to give back to the community by sharing the love of stories and books and exposing children to world of performing arts.
