SOME 200 staff from DST led by its Chief Executive Officer, Suhaimi Hussain participated in a parade yesterday during the 31st National Day celebration at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien.
The DST staff’s participation is part of their pledge to work for national development and facilitate growth in the private sector.
Fatin Tajuddin from DST’s Legal Department expressed her excitement at participating in the parade for the first time since joining the telecommunication company. “I’m proud to be able to join in this year’s march with DST and thousands of others as a symbol of unity of the nation.”
The same sentiment was shared by Nur Hafizah from the Finance Department, who was assigned to carry the DST signage in front of the company’s delegation. “It is a double celebration for me as February 23 coincides with the birthdate of my father-in-law. After the celebration at the Taman, I will go home and celebrate with my family. It is truly a meaningful day for me,” she said.
Technical engineering staff Awangku Md Alli Isaputera never missed representing DST in the parade since he joined the company back in 2004. He said, “I joined not only for DST but also for my country. The theme ‘Generation with a Vision’ is ideal as it cultivates innovation, progress and commitment. They are similar to the values we have at DST.”
