SCHOLARSHIP recipients due to depart for overseas studies were reminded to stick to the core values of Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB). At a briefing on MIB held yesterday at the Goldstone Ballroom of the Centrepoint Hotel in Gadong, the students were urged not to neglect the purpose of their study.
The Special Duties Senior Officer cum Head of Secretariat of the MIB Supreme Council, Dr Awang Haji Muhammad Hadi bin Muhammad Melayong, delivered the briefing.
One-hundred-fifty scholarship recipients under the various government scholarship schemes attended the talk, in which they were given an overview on the roles of the MIB Supreme Council and the vital importance of maintaining one’s MIB values. They were also advised not to get carried away in cultures other than their own, especially in light of the lifestyle adjustments they will make once they embark on their academic journey.
The briefing is part of the Ministry of Education’s (MoE) pre-departure programme for the 2014 academic year, organised to prepare students for what awaits them overseas.
