THE 16th Brunei Book Fair and Empowering Reading Culture Carnival 2015 being held at the Indoor Stadium in Berakas this year sees the participation of the State Mufti’s Office.
During the carnival launch, 15 books were unveiled – five general books, four literature books and six children’s book.
One of the books launched was ‘Kumpulan Puisi Dari Jendela Dunia’ by State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, who is known to the literary world as Adi Rumi. The book contains poetry penned between 1993 to 2008.
Translated into English by Institut Terjemahan Buku Malaysia (ITBM), the book is entitled ‘A Collection of Poetry Window of the World’. It is the first literature book to be translated abroad in an effort to introduce the writer to other countries.
The book was published in 2008 and contains over 90 poetry pieces collected from the ideas of Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz.
Adi Rumi’s deep-meaning poetry spans across Islam, the life of Muslims and the different perspectives on Islam.
The collaboration between the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) with ITBM aims to promote national literary works.
The State Mufti’s Office participation in the book fair also aims to introduce the public to the Fatwa Mufti Kerajaan 2013, which was published by the State Mufti’s Office.
The book contains answers and explanations to ‘hukum’-related questions in the daily lives of Muslims throughout the year of 2013.
The 10-chapter book discusses ‘ibadat’, ‘muamalat’, food and beverages, clothes and accessories, medical matters, As-Siyasah Asy-Syar’iyyah, At-Tashawwuf, Do’a, Wirid and Zikir, and Al-Mutafarriqat.
The book can be purchased either at the book fair or the Publication and Information Department of the State Mufti’s Office.
