THIRTEEN staff from Standard Chartered Bank Brunei recently spent an afternoon with 20 special needs students from Pusat Bahagia for a cooking activity at the centre in Pulaie.
The Standard Chartered staff, led by the Bank’s Corporate Real Estate Department (CRES), helped guide the special needs students to make pizzas and sausage rolls at the Pusat Bahagia Centre’s canteen.
Daniel Ang, Acting Head of CRES said, “We are delighted to spend an engaging afternoon with the teachers and students of Pusat Bahagia for the cooking class.
“At Standard Chartered Bank, being here for good is reflected through these types of activities that help us demonstrate our commitment to our community.”
Standard Chartered Bank is one of the few organisations that actively encourages its staff to take time off work to volunteer in the community by giving all staff three days of employee volunteering leave in addition to their annual leave.
With more than 89,000 employees in 70 different markets, Standard Chartered believes that these volunteering initiatives will have a significant, positive impact across its global footprint.
