LOCAL basketball fans are in for a treat from today until Sunday as top cagers from Miri, Labuan, Kota KInabalu and Brunei will showcase their skills in the Borneo Cup 2014 at the Brunei Basketball Association’s Batu Bersurat court.
A managerial meeting was held yesterday whereby representatives of Labuan, Miri, Kota Kinabalu as well as host Brunei were present.
The Brunei’s women team will tip-off their first match 9.30am today against the Kota Kinabalu team while in the Veteran category, Brunei will face Miri at 3.30pm and then the highlight of the day will be the men’s match between Brunei and Miri at 5pm. The managerial meeting was chaired by Chai Tze Yun, the chairperson of the organising committee for the tournament.
Chai hoped that friendship will come first and it’s important to follow the instructions of the referees.
The meeting also discussed the allocation of referees from Brunei, Labuan, Kota Kinabalu and Miri for a total of 18 matches for the championship.
