THE Information Department yesterday welcomed a total of 40 youth representatives of the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Programme (SSEAYP) held at the Conference Room at the Information Department’s new building.
Upon their arrival, the delegation was welcomed by Awang Musa bin Mohidin, an officer at the Information Department.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed with a briefing on the major roles of the Information Department especially in preserving the country’s image and its functions as the mouth and ear of the government in delivering news and information about the policies, activities and programmes to all segments of society in Brunei.
He also added that the information is disseminated through the government’s official newspaper, “Pelita Brunei”, state-oriented books, in-person communication, and other new social media such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
The event ended with a question-and-answer session as well as a souvenir presentation to the head of delegation.
