TEN personnel led by the Acting Head of Immigration conducted spot checks at five local eateries in Mukim Seria and Mukim Liang Lumut. Five foreign men were questioned for abusing their social visit pass and working as cooks and kitchen assistants.
Another foreign man who was guaranteed as labourer was also caught for working as a kitchen assistant at a restaurant without the acknowledgement of his employer.
A foreign man was also detained for failing to show valid travel document and another 18 foreign nationals were also issued with special passes for further investigation and original passport verification.
The Immigration and National Registration Department reminded employers and foreign workers to adhere to rules and regulations, warning it would continue conducting random checks.
