SINGAPORE (Bernama) – Singapore calls for greater collaboration among the aviation community to ensure a stronger and more resilient industry.
Senior Minister of State for Finance and Transport Josephine Teo in her address at the opening of the Aviation Productivity Conference 2015, noted that the aviation community has had a sobering start in 2015.
“Some of us are still reeling from the shock of the succession of tragic events – Malaysian Airlines Flights MH17 and MH370, Air Asia flight QZ8501 and most recently, Trans Asia flight GE 235.
“Besides seeking answers to difficult questions, it will be important to look forward and work together, with the shared goal of ensuring aviation becomes stronger and more resilient,” she said.
On Singapore’s aviation hub, she said that productivity growth was important to ensure the continued success of Singapore’s aviation hub, however she noted that in 2014, Changi Airport experienced more subdued growth than in the years after the Global Financial Crisis.
