BAIDURI Bank yesterday celebrated the official opening of its Muara “café” branch at its new location at Al-Warasah Building.
The newly relocated branch, which now offers full-fledged banking services, is aimed at catering to the increasing number of customers in and around the area.
Awg Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Awg Hj Mohd Yunos, Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Communications, officiated the new premises at the ceremony.
In his welcoming speech, Baiduri Bank’s CEO Pierre Imhof said, “We recognise Muara Town as an area of rapid development. We are here to support the many industrial and business activities that are taking place at this end of the country, in line with the Government’s initiatives to develop local SMEs. The new branch clearly demonstrates the Bank’s continuing commitment as a financial partner in the economic development of the country.”
He elaborated that the relocation and upgrading of the Muara branch is part of Baiduri Bank’s branch network configuration project which seeks to redesign each branch to suit the market demographic segment, and shared that the new branch is the first “café bank branch” concept in Brunei to offer a café banking experience, with international brand “It’s a Grind” coffeehouse located within the same premises.
The branch first began operations in Muara Town in 2007 at the Bangunan Tiga Tingkat, and relocated to the Al-Warasah Building recently. The new premises has more than two times the floor area and offers full banking service to both businesses and individuals, along with free financial planning consultation.
The modern layout is designed to allow customers to carry out their banking transactions in a relaxed and comfortable setting. In addition, the bank seeks to craft a workplace that promotes work efficiency and employee wellbeing.
Following the launch, guests were taken on a tour of the branch premises led by Alvina Chung, Regional Manager of Brunei-Muara District, and Alice Lee, Branch Manager of Baiduri Bank, Muara Branch.
Also present were Ti Eng Hui, Deputy CEO of Baiduri Bank; Hj Haliluddin bin Dato Hj Talib, General Manager of Baiduri Finance; Andrew Young, Deputy General Manager – Operations Management Division, Diversification & Strategic Development; Pengiran Azaleen bin Pengiran Dato Haji Mustapha, Head of Retail Banking and Branch Network and a host of senior executives from the Bank.
