TWO soldiers who were reported missing on Thursday are alive and well.
Lance Corporal Suffiandi bin Eji and Private Md Fairin bin Tangkap – both from the Third Battalion of the Royal Brunei Land Forces (3Bn RBLF) in Lumut – were found at about noon yesterday.
They were evacuated via a Royal Brunei Air Force helicopter and taken to Lumut Camp Medical Centre, where they received treatment.
L/Corp Suffiandi and Pvt Md Fairin, who were separated from the routine patrol group in Hutan Rempayoh in Labi on January 15, were located thanks to a massive search and rescue operation by the Special Tasks Platoon of the 3Bn RBLF.
The Gurkha Reserve Unit K9 Unit also assisted in the search, which was led by Colonel Pengiran Dato Paduka Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of RBLF.
