THE Special Olympics Brunei Darussalam (SOBD) football team will be looking to defend their title at the 7th Borneo Cup football championship to be held in Tarakan, Indonesia from Nov 6-10.
Held once every two years, the Special Olympics Brunei Darussalam (SOBD) football team won the tournament for the first time two years ago in Sibu, Sarawak.
According to head of delegation of the Brunei team, Awang Adanan Musim: “This year a total of eight teams will be competing in the tournament – Brunei (1), Sabah (2) and Kalimantan (5).”
“The team have been in earnest preparation and comprised of two members from the winning team in 2012 and also three new members,” Awang Adanan said.
Brunei Darussalam also were runner-up in the 2008 and 2010 championships.
Awang Adanan is confident Brunei will be able to defend their title this year.
