ON NOVEMBER 12, the first Smarter Cities conference and workshop for Brunei Darussalam will be held at The Core, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD).
The full day event will be facilitated by a group of Smarter Cities expertise from IBM, a leader in Smarter Cities solution together with Red Hat, a leader in open source technologies and Esri, the leading geospatial solutions company.
A growing number of cities are committing to a smart city vision in order to meet the challenges of sustainable growth, help rejuvenate their economies, and establish their place in the clean-tech and IT-related industries of the future.
The focus on cities as engines for sustainable economic development is closely associated with the unprecedented levels of urbanisation that characterise the 21st Century.
Most of the world’s citizens now live in cities, but this is only the beginning of a global social, economic, environmental, and political transformation.
This is a joint event hosted by UBD’s e-Government Innovation Centre (eG.InC), IBM Malaysia and BS Syscom (B) Sdn Bhd, an IBM Premier Business Partner.
In the event, IBM, Red Hat and Esri will showcase solution, which recognises vital challenges that cities face, such as traffic congestion, energy usage, and the efficient management of city resources to cater to ever-growing population demands.
