THE death of two siblings, a two-year-old girl and a four-year-old boy, at the Suri Seri Begawan Hospital in Kuala Belait earlier this week, was due to aspiration pneumonia, according to a statement released by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) yesterday.
Aspiration pneumonia is a condition where there is swelling or an infection in the lungs, the RBPF statement explained.
It was reported that the secondary cause of death was a viral infection.
Both children suffered from dehydration and there was no foul play found during the investigation, the statement said.
