DOZENS of Toyota car owners in Brunei showcased their models from the late 1980s and 1990s at the Civic Centre of Tutong District yesterday. The gathering was aimed at bringing together Toyota car owners in Brunei to share their experience on matters related to the car, including maintenance, parts and accessories.
In an interview, Muhammad Ariff bin Haji Jaini, the owner of a Toyota Corolla Trueno AE92 said, “It is not easy to maintain car models from the 1980s to 1990s. To find the accessories and parts, especially the original one, we need to order from neighbouring countries and it’s quite costly.”
He also told the Bulletin that the gathering enabled Toyota car owners to share their ideas and experience as well as to strengthen the ties among the car enthusiasts.
Among the Toyota car models showcased were Toyota Levin AE111, Toyota Levin AE101, Toyota Marino AE 111, Toyota Corolla AE92/90 and Toyota Sprinter Carib.
