A FIVE-day Charity Bazaar organised by the village consultative council of Mukim Gadong B was officially opened to the public yesterday at the Dermaga Diraja Bandar Seri Begawan.
The event is jointly organised by the Brunei-Muara District Office and the Women’s Council Bureau from Mukim Gadong ‘B’.
In his welcoming speech, the Penghulu of Mukim Gadong ‘B’, Major (Rtd) Hj Abu Bakar bin Hj Sapar said the event, which ends on December 31, promotes local products made by villagers of Mukim Gadong ‘B’ and aims to to help entrepreneurs expand their business regionally, which is in line with His Majesty government’s commitment to help spur the development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
Proceeds from the charity bazaar will also be donated to orphans in Mukim Gadong ‘B’.
Other activities to enliven the event include a garage sale, haunted house, children’s bouncer, cultural performance, Zumba, colouring contest and Mini 4WD Tamiya.
