THE Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) yesterday announced the launch of its new initiative to boost ICT adoption by local SMEs with a program called ‘SMEs Empowered by Technology’ (SET).
SET is designed to encourage SMEs to enhance their business operations and productivity through implementation of ICT solutions. Eligible SMEs who participate in the program will enjoy up to 80 per cent subsidy on pre-selected solutions.
The first solution that is offered under SET is for financial management – MARS Accounting Package (MAP). MAP allows SMEs to better manage their finances and achieve a high degree of financial accuracy and integrity. By recording every business transaction, SMEs with this financial management solution will be able to obtain a holistic financial picture through automatically generated reports.
Applications are now open for all local SMEs (ICT and non-ICT sectors). The closing date for submission of applications is February 2, 2015. The SET application form and terms and conditions are available for download at AITI’s website www.aiti.gov.bn/SET.
