A SENIOR Education Officer from the School Feeding Scheme and Hostel Section of the Ministry of Education was yesterday brought before the Bandar Magistrate’s Court to face a graft charge for allegedly receiving a substantial amount of money after promising a company it would be awarded a contract of food and drinks supply to a government school.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau in a release stated that no plea was taken from Haji Juhari bin Haji Muda @ Usop for a charge of corruptly accepting a gratification of $35,000 from a representative of Syarikat Daizie as an inducement for promising the award of a three-year contract for the supply of food and packet drinks to Dato Marsal Primary School in Kg Perpindahan Lambak Kanan to the company under the School Feeding Scheme.
The magistrate released the defendant on bail of $10,000 or in two local sureties pending the next mention of the case on December 15.
