THE Department of Mosque Affairs, Ministry of Religious Affairs, yesterday organised a one-day seminar for 150 mosque officers, imams and bilal from all the districts at Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kiarong.
Acting Assistant Director of Mosque Affairs, Haji Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri, who was the guest of honour, explained that mosques play an important role not only as a symbol of Islam, but also in integrating the teachings of Islam and as a centre for organising Islamic activities.
The seminar was aimed at producing dynamic mosque officers, promoting a friendly work environment and addressing various issues.
The seminar was facilitated by the President of PIMPINAN Negeri Selangor, Malaysia, Haji Yasim bin Mohamed.
