SHAH ALAM (Bernama) – Selangor has recorded the highest number of 39,158 dengue cases involving 59 deaths from January until yesterday nationwide, said Deputy Health
Minister Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya.
He said however the number was not alarming and it had shown a downward trend during the first nine months of this year.
“Selangor recorded the highest cases probably due to its waste collection system that is not being managed properly which led to the dengue epidemic.
“Selangor is also an urban state with many development sectors such as construction sites, so this is one of the causes, it records the highest number of dengue cases,” he told reporters after the fourth Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) Burn Seminar 2017 yesterday.
