THE second batch of this year’s Haj pilgrims left the Sultanate yesterday for the holy city of Makkah on Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) flight BI 4203.
The 183 pilgrims who bought their Haj packages from Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd (DHSB) and Strait Central Agencies (B) Sdn Bhd (SCA) left the country with Haj officials from both authorised travel agents/operators as well as medical officers.
Also at the Brunei International Airport yesterday were the Minister of Religious Affairs, Pg Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohammad bin Pg Hj Abdul Rahman; the Chairman of DHSB’s Board of Directors, Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Yusoff bin Hj Ismail; Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Pg Dato Paduka Hj Bahrom bin Pg Hj Bahar; Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), Hj Mohd ‘Abdoh bin Dato Seri Setia Hj Abdul Salam; Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at MoRA, Hj Harun bin Hj Junid; Charge d’Affaires ad interim Deputy Head of Mission at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, Tariq Mohammed Ali Bahhah, as well as directors, as well as other senior government officials, and managing directors of the two Haj package providers.
Following the flight’s departure, a Doa Selamat was read by Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Awg Hj Emran bin Hj Kunchang while Mudim Awg Hj Suhaili bin Hj Kalong performed the call of prayer (Azan).
The first batch of 191 Haj pilgrims left Brunei on Wednesday, September 10.
