ABACUS Distribution Systems (Brunei) Sdn Bhd will launch the 11th Abacus Holiday Travel Fair this Saturday, September 27, from 9am to 9pm, at the Grandstone Ballroom, 7th floor, the Centrepoint Hotel, Gadong.
The two-day fair, organised by Abacus Brunei will provide Abacus travel partners including airlines, national tourist officers, hotels and travel agents a unique platform to promote and showcase their products and services.
The fair aims to stimulate demand at both ends of the spectrum, providing travellers with the convenience of shopping for a wide range of travel deals under a single roof.
“At Abacus Brunei, we have successfully organised 10 previous travel fairs since 2004,” said Irene Soon, General Manager of Abacus Brunei.
She thanked Abacus Brunei partners as well as travellers for their support in the previous travel fairs.
“At this much anticipated event, we are looking forward to delivering fresh content and attracting thousands of people in search of their dream vacation. With the support of our partners and travel agents we are confident that we will be able to see a positive growth again this year,” she added.
The Sales & Marketing Manager of Abacus Brunei, Abd Halim Haji Abd Rahman, explained that there will be seven Abacus Brunei-based travel agents participating in this travel fair that are connected to more than 40 Abacus terminals, which will help travel agents to efficiently give service to visitors.
“The travel fair provides an excellent opportunity for Brunei-based travellers to shop for both overseas and local packages making it an event on the travel calendar that is not to be missed,” Abd Halim continued.
In addition, Tourism Malaysia as well as the Taiwan Visitors Association and Tourism Authority Thailand based in Kuala Lumpur, will be participating again in this year’s fair, where Baiduri Bank Berhad, Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) and Singapore Airlines will also have booths to extend support to participating travel agents as well as provide assistance to the visitors.
Travel agents attending the fair are Anthony Tours & Travel Agency, Century Travel Centre, Darussalam Holdings, Freme Travel Services, Pan Bright Travel Service, Southern Cross Travel Agencies and Straits Central Agencies.
General Manager of Singapore Airlines for Brunei, Sabah and Sarawak, Choong Weng On, said that Singapore Airlines strives to provide value to their passengers, from their commitment to service and product excellence to generous offerings such as 30 kg baggage allowance for their Economy Class and SG$20 voucher for shopping and dining at Changi International Airport for airlines’ passengers transiting there.
“From October 27, our passengers travelling to and from Auckland in New Zealand will be able to enjoy the luxury and comfort of the world’s largest aircraft, the Airbus A380. The 471-seat A380 will be operated daily from Singapore to and from Auckland,” added Weng On.
The carrier will also have attractive fares to some of their offered destinations.
Customers who purchase their Singapore Airlines tickets during the fair will receive an exclusive Singapore Airlines gift.
It was also stated that RB will have a Royal Skies booth at the fair for any enquiries regarding the newly rebranded Loyalty Programme.
They will also be holding Facebook quizzes and an Instagram competition during the fair where five lucky winners will be selected for each category.
Evelyn Ang, RB Country Manager Brunei, said that RB will be relaunching their flights from Brunei to Ho Chi Minh City, formerly named Saigon, the largest city in Vietnam, on October 17, which will have to and fro flights, four times a week with reduced fuel surcharges.
Visitors are in for attractive air fares, hotel rates and packages, as well as domestic hotel and tour packages, Haji and Umrah, Medical Tourism products such as health screenings, and travelling insurances.
For every booking or purchase made during the fair, customers stand a chance to win a set of GoPro HERO3 and two sets of Momax iPower S2C Powerbanks.
Baiduri Bank cardholders who make payments using any Baiduri Bank debit or credit card will get two additional chances to win.
Exclusive gifts will be given from Abacus and Baiduri for the first 100 customers who purchase and make payment using the Baiduri Bank debit or credit cards with a minimum purchase of B$1,000.
Also up for promotion is a Return Economy Class Air Ticket from Hong Kong to Beijing sponsored by Cathay Pacific.
