TWENTY three Asean participants of Seameo Voctech Regional Training Programme visited the house of Awg Haji Mohd Yusof bin Piut, a local resident of Kg Perpindahan Bunut, recently.
The participants from Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Lao PDR, Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia are in Brunei to attend a training programme. Seameo Voctech is also giving the participants an opportunity to tour around Brunei along with Bruneian participants.
The visitors were welcomed by a Hadrah and Silat performance by some of the family members of Awg Haji Mohd Yusof bin Piut, in the evening.
As the event proceeded, there were several performances, like live traditional music and gulingtangan, and fun activities. Participants also tried Brunei’s delicacies.
The event aimed to welcome the participants to Brunei Darussalam and introduce them to Brunei’s traditions and lifestyle and to show the meaning of being a true Bruneian.
The event was a success and both family members of Awg Haji Mohd Yusof bin Piut and the participants had cultural exchanges and developed a bond that goes beyond territorial boundaries.
