THE development and implementation of a suitable curriculum is one of the most important elements of education management systems and processes.
It is also one of the important components in the design of academic and educational systems that can develop one’s behaviour in the face of the challenges of everyday life and of careers.
To meet the vision, goals and objectives of the curriculum programmes, administrators and educators face big challenges which require making decisions based on leadership skills and supervisory competence.
To implement the programme curriculum, SEAMEO VOCTECH held a regional forum entitled ‘Issues, challenges and Best Practices in Implementing the Curriculum’ yesterday morning at its Regional Centre in Gadong.
The Director of Curriculum Development Department, Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Nawi, and Director of the Institute of Brunei Technical Education, Dr Chin Wei Keh, spoke about their experiences in the implementation of curriculum, to the participants.
They explained how issues and challenges can be met in implementing the programme curriculum.
They also advised on how a model of best practice can be developed and implemented.
More than 90 participants were present at the forum which was also atteneded by officials and employees of the departments under the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Defence.
The forum was held in conjunction with the two-week regional training programme on ‘Excellence in Curriculum Implementation through Situational Visionary Leadership and Supervision (E-Class)’.
