A SEMINAR titled CERN – A Gateway to Science and Technology was held yesterday at the Faculty of Science of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD).
The seminar was led by invited speakers, Professor Emmanuel Tsesmelis, Senior Physicist and Deputy Head of International Relations, CERN Directorate-General Unit in Switzerland and Professor Dr Albert De Roeck, CERN Physicist and Scientists of Switzerland.
CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, is one of the world’s largest and most respected centres for scientific research and it operates the largest laboratory for particle physics in the world.
About 15 lecturers from the Faculty of Science of the university attended the seminar with the aim of gaining knowledge and information about CERN’s research programmes and applying those knowledge in their respective fields.
