IT WAS a busy day when I was on a casual errand at the popular Kg Serusop commercial area.
Parking areas were scarce so I had to make few rounds and drive to the back of the blocks to find a slot.
There, I noticed that few emergency staircases were blocked by a locked security fences with some portions having barbed wires on top. One had a water tank installed, making the ground landing area very tight.
Is this practice allowed by law?
Will it not affect safety of the buildings?
I wonder what will be the situation like if there is a fire incident. How people can get out of the buildings?
I hope the relevant authorities would look in urgently into this matter.
