KOTA KINABALU (Bernama) – The Sabah state government and people have recorded their highest appreciation to the federal government for channeling a significant allocation to ensure the prosperity of the people and development of the state.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said although the poverty rate in Sabah had been reduced, the commitment of the state government, private sector and all strata of society would not end there.
On the contrary, Musa said, efforts would be redoubled by working together with the federal government to mobilise various programmes to raise further the level of the people’s socio-economy and prosperity.
He was speaking at the investiture in conjunction with the 61st birthday anniversary of the Yang Dipertua Negeri Sabah at the Banquet Hall, Sabah State Legislative Assembly Building, here today.
Musa, who is also the Sabah Finance Minister, said the state government had implemented various programmes for the development of the people such as the Prosperous Village Programme, besides the Prosperous Mini Estates, 1AZAM Programme, Local Economy Upgrading Programme, Agropolitan Project and Housing Aid Programme.
“These programmes aim to transform selected villages holistically by involving three main aspects namely the development of human capital, economic progress and improvement in the quality of life,” Musa said.
In order to raise the income of the targeted groups in the rural areas through entrepreneurship activities, he said, the government had implemented the Rural Entrepreneur Development Programme, One-District-One-Product, Promotions and Sales and Entrepreneurship Training.
