LABUAN (Bernama) – Sabah are out of the semifinals of the football competition in the 8th BIMP-EAGA friendship Games 2014.
They suffered their second successive defeat East Kalimantan in Group B, losing 2-3 after being edged 0-1 by Papua yesterday.
In another Group B match, Labuan lost to Brunei 1-2 and will play Sarawak next at the Labuan Sport Complex field at 7pm tomorrow.
Organising committee liaison officer Asmawi Awang said the match between Papua and East Kalimantan for the semi-final will also be held the same day.
“Malaysian teams Labuan and Sarawak still have one match tomorrow to qualify for the semi-final against the teams of neighboring countries,” he said.
He said Brunei team had automatically booked the semi-final after recording undefeated matches.
