RADIO Televisyen Brunei (RTB) has launched a roadshow with the theme ‘Transition to Digital Broadcasting Era’ at the Bumiputra Commercial Trade Centre in Temburong District.
Present as the guests of honour during the launching ceremony were Hj Abd Hamid bin Dato Paduka Hj Abdullah, Temburong District Officer and Hj Mohammad Suffian bin Hj Bungsu, Director of RTB. Among the attendees were government officers, penghulus and village heads, residents and students from Temburong District.
According to a statement, the roadshow aims to educate the public regarding RTB’s transition towards digital broadcasting, and highlight the advantages of digital broadcasting compared to analogue broadcasting as well as to demonstrate the proper way to set up aerials at home.
RTB is also hosting various side activities as part of the roadshow such as mini booths of various divisions of RTB that expose the public to RTB’s services, stage performances and games. Other side events include an exhibition, Bermukun recording, or singing with drumbeat, funfare, futsal tournament as well as talent scouting.
Present to deliver a talk regarding the transition to digital broadcasting was Pg Hj Mahari bin Pg Hj Abd Rajak, Deputy Director of RTB. A question-and-answer session followed the talk.
RTB has started the digital broadcasting in 2009.
The roadshow will be extended to Belait District on February 14.
