EIGHT Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB) producers have departed to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to attend a seven-week broadcasting course from February 26 to April 10 at the prestigious
Tun Abdul Razak Broadcasting and Information Institute (IPPTAR).
The officers will attend five weeks of training on TV broad-casting and two weeks on radio broadcasting, which cover both theory and practical training. The intensive and comprehensive course is one of the strategic steps taken by RTB to develop professionalism among its workforce and to upgrade the quality of its programmes and locally broadcast channels.
Present at the Brunei International Airport to send off the producers was Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Wahab bin Juned, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
Also present were the Permanent Secretary (Media and Cabinet) at the PMO, Haji Mohd Rozan bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos, RTB Director Haji Muhammad Suffian bin Haji Bungsu, as well as officers and staff members from the PMO.
In March, four more producers will attend a similar course at the Radio Netherland Training Centre (RNTC) for three whole months. In April, four producers will also undergo six-month training at the Thomson Foundation in the United Kingdom.
