AS PART of its efforts to broaden its programmes, state broadcaster Radio Televisyen Brunei (RTB) is collaborating with MediaCorp Singapore to launch the jointly-produced entertainment programme entitled ‘Rapsodi’.
‘Rapsodi’ has been scheduled to take place at the Jerudong Park Ampitheatre on Saturday, November 15, at 8.15pm. The performance is part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the government of the Republic of Singapore which was signed in 1990.
This year’s ‘Rapsodi’ bears the theme ‘Music Inspiration’ with its focal point being on everlasting songs from the golden eras of the 1950s, 1960s and 1980s. It aims to symbolise the unity and prosperity of the bilateral relationship between Brunei and Singapore.
The show will be broadcast live on RTB 2 and Pelangi FM radio station at 95.9.
The musical talents from Brunei who are to perform at ‘Rapsodi’ include Dila, Juju, Faiz Nawi, Hazimah, Afiq Wafi and Seniman Jalanan. Meanwhile, artistes from Singapore include Aisyah Aziz, Rahimah Rahim, Hariani, Sufie Rashid and Djoharnaen.
Members of the public are encouraged to drop by the venue to enjoy the concert, aside from showing support to the local talents. Entrance to the show will be free according to a statement from RTB.
