THE analogue television broadcasting from the Andulau Transmission Station in the Belait District officially ended on July 31, while analogue broadcasts from the Bukit Subok Transmission Station will end on December 31, Radio Television Brunei (RTB) said in a release yesterday.
“The public is therefore advised to switch to RTB’s digital broadcasting to receive high-quality audio broadcasts,” said the press statement. “RTB’s digital broadcasting can be obtained by using the correct digital reception equipment, whether via Set-Top-Box (STB) or a digital television set that has Digital Television Tuner (iDTV) integrated with the DVBT2 system.”
The statement also said that aerial reception was necessary to ensure the availability of high-quality television broadcasts, particularly to viewers living in highland or hilly areas.
“Those in the Brunei-Muara and Temburong districts are advised to install an outdoor Ultra High Frequency (UHF) aerial system directed towards the Bukit Subok Transmission Station, while those in Belait and Tutong districts should direct their aerial systems to the Andulau Transmission Station,” it said. “Viewers in areas far from those stations are advised to install a booster tool for optimum broadcasts.”
For details, the public can contact RTB’s Network Operation Centre at 6732384666 (ext 3137), or the Corporate Relations Section at 6732243111 (ext 212) during office hours.
