HIS Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a congratulatory message to U Thein Sein, President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and the government and people of Myanmar on the occasion of their Independence Day.
In the message, His Majesty congratulated President U Thein Sein on Myanmar’s successful chairmanship of Asean in 2014, and much appreciated the Myanmar President’s warm hospitality and the excellent arrangements made for His Majesty’s state visit in March the same year.
His Majesty looked forward to continuing to work together with the Myanmar President, both bilaterally and as partners in the region, in further strengthening the much-valued ties enjoyed by the two countries.
In ending the message, His Majesty extended his kindest regards and very best wishes for the continued good health and happiness of President U Thein Sein.
Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, also sent a congratulatory message to Wunna Maung Lwin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
His Royal Highness said, “It is with great pleasure that I send my warmest congratulations to you and to the government and people of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar on your 67th Independence Day.
“I would also like to congratulate Myanmar on its successful chairmanship of Asean last year, and thank you and your people most warmly for the hospitality and arrangements made during the many meetings you hosted. I look forward to continuing our work together in strengthening these much-valued relations especially in health and energy.
“With kindest regards and my very best wishes for a happy celebration and a prosperous 2015.”
