THE Charge d’Affaires of Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia to Brunei Darussalam, Tariq Mohammed Ali Bahhah said that the forthcoming meeting of the High Level Joint Committee for Economic Cooperation will be the beginning of a more vigorous economic cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Speaking during the 84th National Day Reception of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia last night, Tariq Mohammed Ali Bahhah said the brotherly relationship between Saudi Arabia and Brunei Darussalam will be reaching its peak in the near future. Both countries share a lot in common and the governments are supporting each other in various fields, he added.
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been going through massive development projects which aim to improve the quality of life of Saudi citizens as well as to provide best services to visitors of the Kingdom who arrive through various ports and airports in huge numbers every day.”
He further stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is also improving their care and services for the increasing number of visitors performing the Haj and Umrah.
He also mentioned that the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah have always been top priority for the govermment. The renovation of the mosques has been carried out since ancient times, but the current expansion work, expected to last until 2020, is considered to be the biggest and most valuable in history.
Tariq Mohammed Ali Bahhah also explained that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also has a long line up of other mega projects such as the building of new airports, super highways, 11 international stadiums, hospitals and universities, to name a few.
Present as the guest of honour was Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Home Affairs.
