THE Rotary Club of Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) recently distributed a total of 250 sets of bags and stationery to young students from low-income groups to prepare them for their new school term next year.
A group of Rotary Club members (Rotarions) led by President Kenneth Ling visited concerned schools to distribute their contributions to some children in the presence of headmasters.
Among the schools that benefited from this project were Sekolah Rendah Kg Bukit (42 recipients), SR Panchong (66) SR Ukong (51) and SR Benutan (21), not to mention 70 additional students found through the Tutong Hospital’s Social Welfare Department.
The project was part of the club’s regular support programmes for underprivileged families in remote areas of the Tutong District.
The Rotary Club has been working closely with Tutong Hospital for several years now and the hospital has also helped identify families in need who require assistance.
The club from time to time provides support to needy families in the district and hopes to improve their living conditions by providing basic food and necessities.
