THE Public Works Department (PWD) refers to the letter “More needs to be done for this temporary fix” by ‘Concerned resident’, which was published in the Opinion page of the September 3, 2014 edition of the Borneo Bulletin regarding road conditions at Simpang 104, Jalan Pantai in Sungai Liang.
First of all, we would like to thank the ‘Concerned resident’ for highlighting the matter.
The PWD would like to assure the public that the department is continuously monitoring the affected areas for any signs of failure which may affect the safety and comfort of the road users.
The road was, in fact, damaged by heavy downpour and traffic movement in and out of the junction.
Remedial and asphalting works have been completed and further monitoring will be carried out.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
The PWD welcomes any queries or complaints which can be made via Talian Darussalam Hotline 123, or via e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
