BRUNEI Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) organised a ‘Road Safety Day’ at the Panaga Primary School of Seria on November 20 as a part of their commitment to raising road safety awareness.
As a measure to give school children an early education on road safety, BSP organised the event to teach the basics of safe driving.
Several games and activities were tailored to catch the school children’s attention such as the seatbelt convincer and OGDC mobile phone traffic games.
As safety is BSP’s top priority, this is the second road safety event organised in the span of two weeks.
According to representatives from BSP, they said that based on the studies, the common causes of road accidents in Brunei are speeding, reckless driving (such as tailgating), using mobile phone while driving and running red lights. The event was also participated by the Royal Brunei Police Force’s Brunei National Road Safety Unit and Ministry of Communications that showcased SiKAP.
