THE Enforcement Unit from the Brunei-Muara District Office recently issued a $500 compound to a retail store in Kampong Kapok and an order to clean up the area that was deliberately littered by the retail store, a press release stated.
The owner was given a stern warning for the violation of Minor Offences Act Cap (30:12) with regards to the cleanliness issues around the vicinity of their establishment. The owner was further advised to provide a systematic waste dumping facility for their own use and to ensure the cleanliness of the environment will not be affected from their day-to-day business operations. The Brunei-Muara District Office reminded owners of all commercial establishments at the residential and Commercial Business District Area to be more responsible towards the cleanliness of their surroundings.
In 2014, there have been seven violations of the Minor Offences Act with regards to the cleanliness issues in Brunei-Muara District caused by registered companies and business owners in the rural areas.
