KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama) – The success of the police in releasing cage fish farming entreprenuer Chan Sai Chiun, 32, on Thursday, demonstrates the integrity and determination of the security forces in saving kidnap victims.
In congratulating the Royal Malaysian Police Force (PDRM), Chairman of Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation (MCPF) Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said the achievement also showed the credibility of the police in tracking and helping in Chan’s release.
“The police should be lauded for all their efforts in ensuring the successful release of the hostage. This shows they carried out their task efficiently and meticulously,” he told Bernama yesterday.
Commenting further on the release, he said the relationship between PDRM and the security forces of neighbouring countries in negotiating with the armed gang involved was the right step in the safe release of the hostage.
“Although the mission to rescue and bring home the hostage safely was very risky, the police discharged their duties well. The Philippines too extended their cooperation in securing Chan’s release,” he added.
Meanwhile, President of the United Anti-Crime Organisation of Malaysia Datuk Dr A Balakrishnan said the safe release has proven the deep concern of the security forces in ensuring the safety of the people.
