THE nationwide Red Crescent Emergency Assistance Camp concluded yesterday at the Multipurpose Hall, Youth Centre in the capital.
The four-day event was organised by the Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society, in conjunction with the school holidays. Presenting the certificates to camp participants was the guest of honour, Hj Mohd Rosfazilah bin Hj Yusly, Acting Head Officer of Youth and Sports, Youth Section, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
The event began with a recitation of the Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat. Among the objectives of the camp was to instill knowledge among participants on relaying emergency assistance.
The participants comprised association volunteers from IGS College and Polytechnic Brunei.
From the ‘emergency assistance simulation’ and group activities, organisers prioritised self confidence and cooperation between participants.
Two categories namely Best Individual participants and Best Team were awarded. The Best Male Individual Award went to Mohammad Hafizuddin bin Harris Faddillah from the Tutong Secretariat while the Best Female Individual Award was given to Dk Siti Nordinah binti Pg Nordin, a volunteer from Polytechnic Brunei.
