FOURTEEN swimmers from Royal Brunei Recreation Club (RBRC) swam their way to 9 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals to emerge overall champions at the 7-9 year-old Age Group Swimming Championships held at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium Pool on Sunday.
Three rising stars were unearthed at the competition – Aisha Chen and sisters, Sixtene Velluad and Amicie Velluad.
Aisha Chen competing in the girls 9 years old category topped her group with an impressive 4 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals to her collection while Amicie Velluad, another outstanding swimmer of the team won 4 gold medals in record time for all her four events in the girls 7 years old category, and was the only swimmer in the whole meet to have broken records for individual events.
Sixtene Velluad was also impressive, bagging 1 gold and 4 silver medals.
Meanwhile Murray Huskinsson was another winner in the 7 years old category with 2 bronze medals in the 25m butterfly and 25m breaststroke. A total of 11 teams took part in the swimming competition.
