THE Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) is currently waiting for a Pathologist specialist to conduct a post-mortem on three victims who died after a landslide incident while conducting excavation works at their construction site near Kg Sungai Tilong, Jalan Aman on Saturday.
All three workers were Indonesians while another was also injured in the mishap. The victims were allegedly buried under the rubble after the site caved in due to a landslide.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department report, 15 fire and rescue personnel led by Ag SSFR Othman Jailani arrived at the scene after a distress call was made around 5.15pm. The personnel came from the Lambak Kanan Fire Station with a unit from the Female Operation Unit and a special squad.
Members of the public and workers on site managed to pull out two of the victims. The remaining two victims were trapped deep underneath the rubbles measuring around three to five metres. The special squad at the Fire and Rescue Department managed to find both victims at 8.57pm and were rushed to the RIPAS Hospital.
The Royal Brunei Police Force in a statement stated that RBPF received an emergency 993 call informing of several construction workers trapped in a landslide.
